GlobalLogic joins AI-RAN Alliance

San Jose, California — GlobalLogic Inc., a Hitachi Group Company and a leader in digital engineering, announced its membership in the AI-RAN Alliance. This collaboration marks a significant step in GlobalLogic’s commitment to advancing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into radio access network solutions, shaping the future of wireless connectivity, intelligence, and sustainability.

The AI-RAN Alliance brings together industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to accelerate the adoption of AI-driven technologies in RAN systems. As part of this collaboration, GlobalLogic will contribute with its deep expertise in AI/ML, 5G, RAN (Cloud RAN, O-RAN), and next-generation network architecture to help unlock new levels of network automation, efficiency, and monetization, supporting the Alliance’s efforts to create smarter, more efficient, and adaptive network infrastructure.

GlobalLogic will focus its innovation efforts on three foundational domains of AI-RAN:

  • AI-for-RAN: Focuses on enhancing radio access network capabilities with AI to improve spectral efficiency.
  • AI-and-RAN: Integrate AI with RAN processes to optimize infrastructure use and create new revenue opportunities
  • AI-on-RAN: Enable real-time decision-making and new edge use cases by deploying AI workloads directly on RAN infrastructure.

“At GlobalLogic, we believe the next frontier of connectivity is intelligent, autonomous, and energy-efficient,” said Sameer Tikoo, Group Vice President Communications and Network Providers BU at  GlobalLogic. “Our participation in the AI-RAN Alliance aligns perfectly with our vision to create smarter, more adaptive mobile networks that meet rising data demands and enable transformative use cases across industries.”

“We are pleased to welcome GlobalLogic to the AI-RAN Alliance as we work to shape the future of intelligent AI-RAN,” said Alex Jinsung Choi, Chair of the AI-RAN Alliance and Principal Fellow of SoftBank Corp.’s Research Institute of Advanced Technology. “GlobalLogic’s expertise in AI/ML, 5G, and next-generation network architectures will help drive the Alliance’s mission to unlock new levels of automation, efficiency, and innovation in AI-RAN systems.”

Engineering Impact Across Verticals

GlobalLogic is actively advancing RAN performance by accelerating compute-intensive signal processing using GPU-based techniques and developing AI-driven RAN algorithms. These technologies boost responsiveness, reduce energy consumption, and minimize the waste of radio resources.

The impact of AI-RAN spans across multiple industry sectors:

  • Telecommunications: GlobalLogic leverages its deep RAN and AI expertise to help telecom providers modernize and monetize network infrastructure. We are advancing GPU-accelerated signal processing for critical functions such as network access initiation and multi-user data handling, while also enhancing real-time decision making algorithms through AI. These innovations drive higher network capacity, improved energy efficiency, and scalable performance for 5G and future RAN systems.
  • Railways: Enhanced safety and efficiency by leveraging AI-powered RAN capabilities at the network edge for use cases such as real-time video analytics, predictive maintenance, on-board services, and reliable critical communications.
  • Smart Cities: Enabling ultra-low latency applications like ADAS and V2X, and integrating with urban infrastructure such as smart traffic lights and sensors to improve mobility, safety, and emergency response.
