Tony Poulos, TelecomTV (00:03):
Tony Pulos here for TelecomTV at GITEX 2024 in Dubai. The theme of this event, of course, is AI. We're talking about artificial intelligence being used. We've been talking about it for years, but here we're seeing applications and use cases in the flesh actually happening. I've joined up with Huawei at what they're doing in their application space, particularly around AI supporting multiple teaching modes. Smart classrooms create a more engaging environment for students. The classrooms combine the physical and virtual worlds through online and offline teaching. Next generation technologies like ai, big Data, IO, OT and 5G are reshaping our cities. It's all about digitizing the physical world and creating a new realm where online and offline interactions are integrated. The smart campus relies on an efficient and stable network and a centralized platform for research innovation, smart teaching, energy management, and proactive services to manage security and emergencies.

(01:14):
The intelligent area is upon us, and computing power has become the top requirement with data centers as a critical infrastructure. Five, future scenarios will affect data center development over the next decade and will require innovative integration of energy computing, transmission data, and operational efficiency. We can expect breakthroughs in cloud services, computing, storage, network, and energy technology in these data centers. In power distribution scenarios, smart meters and sensors collect massive user of power consumption data and perform in-depth analysis via AI to accurately predict and optimize load distribution. Intelligent perimeter systems use AI and multidimensional intelligent sensing to detect people and animal intrusions and safeguard railway perimeters. The retail industry is using AI to break down the boundaries between online and offline sales modes by implementing unified management of commodities, stock and member information to provide consumers with a seamless shopping experience. Smart buildings and modern structures that use advanced technologies, including IOT and AI to connect, collect, and analyze data to optimize a building's performance.

(02:31):
They give owners actionable insights that can improve building efficiency and safety. That's only a very small snapshot of the number of applications and use cases currently in use worldwide around artificial intelligence, intelligent networks, and I really would like to thank Huawei for stepping us through those. We still didn't have time to talk about things like mining, oil and gas, national, digital infrastructure, finance. I mean, the list goes on and on. It's all happening now and at GITEX 2025 we will be able to see what's happening in the future. I look forward to seeing you then.
