Fujitsu RunMyProcess demonstrates smart city future

Berlin, April 21, 2020 - Fujitsu RunMyProcess is making the Smart City future real with the launch today of RunMyBuilding, a smart building integration and management platform for all physical and digital services across a building or campus, with the further capability to be integrated into the wider Smart City digital environment.

Smart cities and smart buildings require an ever-increasing set of services, many of which are combinations of physical services with online capabilities. At the same time, professional city and building managers are increasingly looking for solutions to help manage all these services in a convenient, consistent and cost-effective way.

RunMyBuilding by Fujitsu RunMyProcess is a portal for facilities managers, offering a menu of individually selectable and configurable services for building management. It enables viewing, booking and management of services for managers and building users via the portal. Additional functionality for tenants is available via the mobile device interface of RunMyApp, available in IOS and Android app stores. RunMyBuilding also provides the integration backbone for added-value workflows, combining two or more digital services.

Fujitsu RunMyProcess has been working with the Berlin Innovation Agency (BIA) and its ecosystem of partners to develop a fully functional service portal demonstrator – and will present the app at the upcoming BIA Smart City Hub online meet-up on April 28.

For the initial demonstrator implementation, RunMyProcess selected two innovative service offerings based on early-phase feedback from target user interviews:

  • Leaftech : advice for building users on how to optimize indoor room conditions in the most efficient and comfortable way. Energy balance is constantly predicted for the hours ahead based on user schedules, 3D city models and weather forecast data.
  • Comydo : software-generated QR keys allow temporary or ad-hoc access management to rooms and buildings from an online calendar using a smart IoT device – simplifying building management tasks such as service team access control or temporary room sub-rental

Hirofumi Ukita, Director, Head of Fujitsu Accelerator, says: “Smart Cities are no longer a future vision – they are emerging all around us in many practical ways that improve services, well-being and the environment. Making the buildings that comprise our cities smarter is clearly a fundamental building block for the way forward. With technology from Fujitsu RunMyProcess, we are making this possible by adding a powerful digital integration platform to our open innovation program with startups - within a value-added cooperation across the Berlin Innovation Agency community.”

Michael Dittel, CEO at Leaftech, comments: “Smart energy minimization and comfort control is a vital aspect of the smart buildings and smart cities revolution. Leaftech is one of the most innovative players in the smart building sector and we are extremely excited to be offering our services within Fujitsu RunMyBuilding.”

Felix Ueckermann, CTO at Comydo, says: “Comydo’s digital key management gives building managers the ability to optimize the utilization of space and minimize the effort spent on key distribution. We will be leveraging the power of Fujitsu RunMyBuilding to extend our set of potential use cases within a wider ecosystem of smart building services.”
