David Orloff, Director, RAN Product Introduction, AT&T
How does AT&T use macro, pico and micro cells, along with existing WiFi and macro cells, to densify the network? A self-optimising network is used to manage all of this, which also needs to be self-organising. The telco is also now seeing a move to self-install cells for enterprises in indoor locations. All of these developments are linked to the C-RAN and an increasing use of virtualisation in the network, as traffic demands continue to increase and place increasing pressure on network assets.
