Irdeto brings enhanced security services to Greek service provider Forthnet

Via Irdeto Press Releases

Sep 21, 2020

AMSTERDAM — Irdeto, the world leader in digital platform security, today announces a new agreement with Forthnet to become the exclusive supplier for their Conditional Access System (CAS) along with Irdeto’s Advance Protection Services (APS). With this enhanced level of security that exceeds the rigorous standards put in place by content creators, Forthnet can remain confident that the protection and the delivery of its value content to its DTH subscribers remains at the highest levels.

Forthnet is a leading provider of bundled home entertainment and communication services across Greece and was the first company to introduce broadband and Pay-TV in the region. Forthnet, by continuously strengthening its multi-play strategy, offers a wide range of Pay-TV, broadband internet and fixed telephony services under the brand Nova to their consumers, enterprises and public bodies.

Forthnet will take advantage of Irdeto’s APS which is an integral part of Irdeto’s holistic 360 degree security approach incuding a wide range of products, services and protection strategies. The solution combines a mix of pro-active and highly responsive services with advanced technology, ensuring that the security and integrity of the entire Conditional Access chain is maintained at the highest level. Irdeto’s APS provides Forthnet with 24×7 proactive global monitoring for piracy, enhanced security plan and long-term comprehensive approach to secure chipsets. With APS, Forthnet can rest assured that its high value content assests are protected to the highest standards, providing its customers with the best viewing experience.

“Irdeto has a great track record of providing solid content security technology. We enjoy a strong relationship with them, so the continuation of our partnership came as a natural consequence. The Irdeto CAS is one of the most secure and trusted CA on the market and layering their comprehensive suite of value-added security services (APS) on top of that technology is in line with our strategy to offer affordable, easy to use and exceptional quality services to Greek households”, said Constantinos Kalavas, Digital Transmission Center Senior Manager at Forthnet.

“Irdeto is always evolving and developing new technologies to secure the content value chain today and into the future. Any internet or video service provider that selects our pre-integrated solution can rest assured that the process of deploying the Irdeto technology, as well as managing future upgrades, is hassle-free with minimal time and effort required from the customer side. We look forward to continuing working with Forthnet enabling them to provide great entertainment and customer experiences”, said Shane McCarthy, COO Video Entertainment at Irdeto.
