SDN has enabled Pacnet to offer different services to its customers, becoming more of a partner and strengthening relationships. One of the first networks to offer SDN, Pacnet has been able to layer SDN on top of its existing hardware. Its engineering team needs to be able to help customers using Pacnet's API, supporting services at a much deeper level than before, but the benefits are already being seen, as Jon Vestal explains.
