Prodip Sen, CTO Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Hewlett Packard Enterprise & Heather Kirksey, Director, OPNFV

Heather Kirksey explains that OPNFV has an atypical role in testing NFV in upstream products, a role that is very unusual for for an Open Source group. She says that while OpenStack and OpenDaylight are unable to undertake the rigorous testing of upstream, OPNFV can do so, even through to the point of integration of one project with another to realise NFV features at a system level. Indeed such wide-ranging testing ability is a key part of the whole OPNFV project. Prodip Sen adds that the amount of testing being done from release to release by OPNFV surprised even him and says the group repeatedly tested latest release of OpenStack to its absolute limits with the greatest vigour and frequency.
