NFV and network transformation: The new industrial revolution

Jehanne Savi says that the global service provider industry is being convulsed by a technological earthquake as a 21st Century industrial revolution shakes the established order to its foundations. It seems likely that both CSPs and vendors underestimated the complexities of network transformation. The assumption was that it would be a step-by-step process of what she calls 'fake"(or intermediate) virtualisation. That turns out not to be the case. Transformation is all-or-nothing and there's still a long way to go along the revolutionary road.
