Manish Singh, Global Head for Network Cloud Solutions, Tech Mahindra and Tareq Amin, CTO Rakuten Mobile Network
Japan’s Rakuten has adopted an innovative approach to building its new cellular 5G-ready network, opting for a cloud native approach. It has selected vendors that will deliver a fully virtualised radio access network. Whilst the broader industry continues to discuss and debate the practicalities of vRAN, Rakuten is actually installing and testing a commercial solution.
