Software driven networks means companies other than telcos, or even the software vendors themselves, can get into the business of service provision, Ian tells Martyn Warwick. And it’s starting to happen - many companies have set themselves up to run their own hosted services with their own products and so are eating their own dogfood. Some are selling to telcos and also playing in the enterprise space directly, so they’re competing with the telcos by becoming telcos themselves.
