Allan Langfield, Executive Director, Product Development, Comcast Business and Board Director, MEF

MEF’s work on CE 2.0 (Carrier Ethernet 2.0) is a lynchpin for effectively doing on-demand services managed services that ultimately will transit multiple provider networks. As Allan notes: “We need those services specifications. We need those operational constructs that are going to support this entire new ecosystem of services that customers are starting to ask for.” Carriers are coming to the MEF and asking the organization to help them orchestrate services (with LSO) not just over their own networks but carrier-to-carrier-to-customer in a way that is very consistent, very reliable, and on-demand.
