Cisco Announces Collaboration with Cubo to Foster Brazil Entrepreneurship

Via Cisco Newsroom Press Releases

Sep 14, 2015

Sao Paulo, Brazil, September 10, 2015 - Cisco announced today an initiative with Cubo, a non-profit entrepreneurship hub, to support Brazilian tech startups. The initiative consists of an ongoing collaboration with Cisco’s IoE Innovation Center Rio de Janeiro and aims to promote the digitization and IoE technology development and integration. The initiative also aims to help building an ecosystem that will make Cubo business users more successful in the marketplace.

Launched in Sao Paulo, Brazil, today, Cubo is a co-working and incubation space developed by Itaú Unibanco and Redpoint e.ventures Venture Capital Fund to promote entrepreneurship in Brazil, offering services and workspace environment, and foster tech entrepreneurial education. Cisco will collaborate with the design of a “State of the Art” technology architecture, and Cisco Intercloud services to support Cubo’s business model.

In addition, Cubo’ startups and organizations will be supported by the Cisco IoE Innovation Center Rio de Janeiro. They will have access to new business solutions and the Cisco DevNet program, which offers developers APIs, toolkits, learning labs and discussion forums with Cisco’s global ecosystem of experts. The initiative also helps integrate startups with the Cisco Innovation Center ecosystem, offering them the opportunity to participate in co-development projects along with Cisco customers and partners as appropriate.

"Through this initiative Cisco establishes a long-term cooperation with Cubo and takes the next step in promoting innovation and accelerating the digitization and IoE markets," says Nina Lualdi, Cisco Innovation senior director for Latin America. "Only through partnership and co-development of technologies aimed to meet local needs can we create a true innovative ecosystem in the country, stimulating the creation and consolidation of new companies and business opportunities," says the executive.
