Luc Verhelst, CIO, Metallo Group

Five to ten years ago, "going digital" meant exploiting new communications channels. Now, it means using the power and opportunity of digital devices that can all be connected to intelligent networks to produce meaningful, actionable data. This data is becoming more important, and more is being stored, much of it very sensitive. IT security is high on the radar of all companies now, along with the associated risks. But we can't stop innovation.
Luc Verhelst says that, increasingly, company Boards are getting more familiar and comfortable with digital and IoT. This understanding of what's happening in the technology domain, coupled with an understanding their own business, leads to a focus on the importance of businesses "going digital".
