Abstract
As 5G continues to gain momentum with deployments and new service delivery around the world, the core has become a vital element for operators to upgrade in order to reach the full promise of the specification. This session will provide an update on the collaboration between HPE, Red Hat and Intel and their progress to make deploying a cloud native 5G network core easier and a competitive advantage for operators.

Richard Band is the WW Head of Mobile Core and 5G for Communications & Media Solutions, Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
HPE Communications & Media Solutions (CMS) provides an innovative portfolio of telecom industry-specific software products, solutions and professional services for demanding Communications Service Providers (CSPs) globally.
Within the CMS portfolio, the Mobile Core and 5G segment covers HLR/HSS, Shared Data Layer, and 5G Control Plane Network Functions. Richard is responsible for the product strategy, product development and business results in Mobile Core and 5G.
Richard’s career with HPE spans more than 20 years. His previous roles include WW Network GTM Director, EMEA Domain Director, Vodafone Global Account Manager, Program Manager, Solution Architect and R&D Technical Leader.
Richard earned his Master’s Degree in Computer Science at Universiteit Twente and graduated with an MBA at HEC Paris.
He is married with 3 children and is based in France.
David Kypuros
Telco Global Solutions Architect, Partner Technologies, Red Hat
David Kypuros is a global telecommunications architect at Red Hat focused on helping telco customers worldwide design and deploy emerging 5G architectures for core, RAN, and edge workloads. As a former AT&T senior solutions architect, David has a strong background in telecom technologies. His career-long telco expertise helps customers transform their strategy through the adoption of open-source solutions. David has a passion for Kubernetes which comes from his desire to give back and contribute to the community.
David recently won Red Hat’s “Deal of the Year – Key Contributor” 2020 award.
Chandresh Ruparel
Director, 5G and Wireless Core Infrastructure, Network and Edge Group, Intel Corporation
Chandresh Ruparel is the Business Unit Director of 5G and Wireless Core Infrastructure at Intel’s Network and Edge Group. In his 25+ years of professional experience, he has held Engineering Development, Product Line Management, Product Marketing and Business Development roles and successfully developed profitable Networking, Media and Server Businesses. His organization is currently responsible for developing innovative solutions in close collaboration with the partner ecosystem and Communications Service Providers (CoSPs) to deliver successful transition and the promise of 5G and Network Cloudification.
