The key telco transformation currently is the move from being network centric as a CSP to being subscriber centric as a DSP. Moving from the old paradigm of building a network and then working out how to sell services; to looking at how subscribers are using services and creating services to meet these needs. NFV gives telcos the flexibility to create different networks for different services and customer types, as opposed to a single homogenous network for all. It's all about the subscriber. However, this introduces a lot more complexity around data and usage, which is why telcos need to focus more on understanding what their subscribers are doing and react accordingly. If telcos can maximise the use of their subscriber profile data, applying analytics capabilities, they can better identify usage patterns and then scale and deploy new service offerings.
