Kevin Vachon, Chief Operating Officer, MEF

At the GEN15 event, the MEF was promoting three key messages. Top of the list is the Third Network, which is defined as the next generation of network services. The foundation for this is the globalisation of Carrier Ethernet 2.0, which is the MEF's second key message, with the third being industry collaboration – working with numerous other standards development bodies and open source organisations. The organisation is delighted with the market reception of the lifecycle services orchestration (LSO) message – part of the Third Network – and seeing service providers align their strategies with the MEF's initiative. We are now starting to see early implementations of LSO by service providers, particulate in Proofs of Concept, and building out the code for the various interfaces.
