Yuri Gittik, Head of Strategic Development and Innovation, RAD

Service providers need to be able to offer more than basic connectivity services; they need to be able to offer application-specific traffic enforcement as a value added service for their customer. RAD is showing the results of a collaboration with Sandvine and CenturyLink on adding application awareness to network traffic, for visibility and operational purposes. The three companies have now integrated this solution, which shows that on the customer side, only a small plug-and-play device is required to be added without any changes to existing network equipment. This device can detect the type of application running, and mark the traffic accordingly to enable the proper traffic handling and collect the most relevant statistics.
