WebRTC (Real Time Communications) is a technique to set up real-time streams between entities across the Web. These could be browsers, Web sites, M2M modules, media gateways, set-top boxes, mobile phones… anything. The streams could support voice, interactive video, M2M and IoT applications, home security... the list is endless.
In Part 1 of this extensive interview - sponsored by Metaswitch - Dean Bubley, Founder, Disruptive Analysis, and WebRTC expert, explained what WebRTC might mean to telcos as they transition from being plain old CSPs (Communications Service Providers) to sail under their new banner of Digital Services Provider, where they will add new services - not necessarily straight communications - to their portfolios.
