Central Indianaset to receive ultra-fast broadband as service provider prepares network for future

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 2, 2015-- ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ: ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced as part of its Enabling Communities, Connecting Lives campaign that New Lisbon Telephone Company (NLTC) is deploying the ADTRAN Total Access 5000 Gigabit services architecture. NLTC is using the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) architecture for both business and residential customers throughout East Central Indiana. Customers will now be able to enjoy high-speed Internet, IPTV and voice services, as well as security and home automation capabilities.

Always thinking about what the community needs, NLTC is known for providing high-quality services throughout the area. Since being granted the first Rural Electrification Administration (REA) loan in the United States nearly 55 years ago, NLTC has continuously shown its dedication to enhancing local telecommunications opportunities. By transitioning to the ADTRAN Total Access 5000 Gigabit services architecture, NLTC is taking the next step towards future-proofing their network. With this next generation deployment, NLTC is laying the foundation to address current broadband demands and pave the way for future services, including Gigabit speeds and beyond.

“New Lisbon Telephone Company works hard to ensure our services are top-notch. Our customers come first and we must ensure that our network can support their usage demands,” said John Greene, General Manager and CEO of New Lisbon Telephone Company. “Gigabit broadband is clearly transforming communities and stimulating economic growth nationwide. By deploying ADTRAN’s Gigabit services architecture, we are excited to be on a capable pathway to delivering such innovative residential and business services.”

“New Lisbon Telephone Company is a great example of how service providers are truly listening to their customers. They take a step back, identify what their customers need – both now and in the future - and then figure out how to address that demand,” said Mitch Fleming, vice president, service provider sales, ADTRAN. “ADTRAN strives to develop innovative broadband access solutions that enable service providers to provide the best services possible. We will continue to look for new ways to enable service providers to deliver world-class services for their customers and provide new opportunities for the communities they support.”

ADTRAN’s Enabling Communities, Connecting Lives program showcases how innovative technologies are being used in cities, towns and communities across the country to support economic growth and urban development. These communities are using ADTRAN’s world-class Wi-Fi and fiber-based Gigabit broadband and Cloud connectivity solutions to reinvigorate downtown business and residential districts, connect classrooms with other learning centers around the world, and help attract new companies seeking to relocate out of crowded urban centers.
