Farid Sani, Chief Strategy Officer, Telekom Malaysia
Telekom Malaysia wants to be the primary convergence operator in the country, and so is looking again at mobile, having previously spun off its mobile business. It is also expanding its FTTH offerings over the next year, upgrading existing customers' connections. Telcos alone can't come up with all the best new ideas and business models, which is why Telekom Malaysia has created its Innovation Exchange, recognising that it needs to embrace other providers, including OTT players and local start-ups. It wants to drive the total communications ecosystem in the country. And to ensure it meets its goals, it works closely with the government to deliver its National Broadband plan throughout the country.
Filmed at Broadband World Forum, Amsterdam, 21-23 October, 2014.
