Tilak De Silva, Chief Innovation Officer, Sri Lanka Telecom

Having implemented FTTH, Sri Lanka Telecom is facing demands from its customer for more services over the broadband network. It believes the IoT will be one of the ways to do this. But with vast differences in per capita income in the country, it makes pricing and selecting new services difficult. The telco is looking to partner with vendors to integrate new services and create applications, and is studying different models for revenue share and collaboration. But the government will likely be the biggest partner, as it has ambitious plans for high-speed broadband ICT usage in education and healthcare.
