NFV: taking a little longer than anticipated but still coming on strong

Why isn’t the NFV juggernaught rolling quite as anticipated? Brian thinks part of the problem is the underlap and overlap of the myriad standards bodies - somebody needs to have a blueprint for how all the bodies should fit together, he says. It’s a similar story with IoT: lots of hype in the cycle for several years now but very little real end-user action - what gives? At present it’s all about components and connectivity but Brian thinks IoT will fly when it’s about services and the essential connectivity between them.
