Announced by Z.ai on June 16th and available today on Scaleway, this deployment delivers on the Scaleway promise: to move as quickly as possible to put cutting-edge open-weight models directly into the hands of developers. With this release, Scaleway becomes the first sovereign cloud provider in Europe to offer the model.

GLM-5.2 is built entirely for the agentic era, delivering configurable reasoning designed for long-horizon tasks. Engineered to prevent the mid-task stalls common in earlier architectures, it seamlessly manages complex pipelines, multi-step workflows, and sustained engineering workloads.

The model currently ranks as the #1 open-weight model for long-horizon coding tasks. On the rigorous FrontierSWE benchmark, GLM-5.2 performs within 1% of Claude Opus 4.8, placing it ahead of both GPT-5.5 and Gemini 3.1 Pro, and making it the best-performing open-weight model across every major coding benchmark.

A standout capability of GLM-5.2 is its flexible thinking effort levels. This feature allows developers to dynamically dial performance versus speed depending on the complexity of the task at hand. Additionally, the model is released under an open MIT license with no regional restrictions, ensuring frontier-level AI remains accessible to everyone.
