UK telecom innovator expands into India to accelerate next-generation wireless broadband

Cambridge Broadband Networks Group (CBNG), a leader in Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) broadband solutions, is expanding into India with the launch of a new engineering presence.

As operators around the world look for faster and more cost-effective ways to expand broadband access, Fixed Wireless Access is playing an increasingly important role in delivering high-capacity connectivity to homes, businesses and underserved communities.

CBNG's expanded engineering capability will help accelerate the development of new software and product innovations that support the evolving market requirements.

The move strengthens its global development capabilities and will accelerate innovation across its VectaStar NR - an innovative 5G fixed wireless platform helping operators extend fibre-like connectivity to underserved and rapidly growing communities.

India’s strong expertise in wireless networking and embedded systems will play a key role in advancing CBNG’s next-generation FWA solutions, helping operators deliver faster and more scalable connectivity.

CBNG’s activities in India are currently centred around Bangalore, one of the country’s leading technology and telecommunications hub. The India team will play a direct role in advancing the VectaStar NR portfolio and bringing new capabilities to market more quickly.

Nedko Ivanov, CEO of CBNG said: “India is a natural choice for strengthening our global engineering capability”

“The depth of expertise in software and telecommunications will play a key role in helping us bring new wireless broadband capabilities to market more quickly. As we build the team over time, it will become an integral part of our engineering organisation, supporting ongoing product development and innovation across the VectaStar NR platform”

The India team will form an integral part of CBNG’s global engineering organisation, working closely with colleagues across the company's international operations. It will significantly enhance CBNG’s ability to accelerate software development, expand product capabilities and deliver new features to market faster.

The move reflects CBNG’s ongoing commitment to investing in advanced wireless broadband technologies and building a globally distributed engineering organisation capable of supporting future growth opportunities. As the company's presence in India develops, the team is expected to grow and play an increasingly important role in driving innovation across the VectaStar NR portfolio.

By establishing an engineering capability in India, CBNG is reinforcing its position as a global innovator in wireless broadband and strengthening its ability to deliver cutting edge solutions at scale.
