Globe Telecom Achieves MEF 3.0 Certification for Transformative Ethernet Services

Via Globe

Jul 18, 2022

Globe Telecom has attained MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet services certification, demonstrating the company’s conformance to rigorous specifications established by MEF, the industry’s defining authority.

MEF is a global industry association of network, cloud, and technology providers accelerating enterprise digital transformation. MEF 3.0 certifications offer a method for organizations to confirm compliance with industry-led MEF 3.0 standards for services, and the technology used to enable those services, thereby accelerating their product development, sales cycles, and service implementations.

“Congratulations to Globe Telecom on its latest MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet certification,” said Nan Chen, President of MEF. “Companies who purchase from a certified MEF 3.0 service provider can have confidence that they will receive services which conform to MEF’s industry-leading global standards. Companies like Globe understand the value that certification provides—simplified, pre-validated functionality for buyers and simplified, frictionless implementation and partnering.”

Prior to its MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet certification, Globe Telecom also attained MEF CE 2.0 certifications for its E-Access, E-LAN, and E-Line services. As a MEF member company, Globe continues to ensure dynamic connectivity services that meet global industry standards for its enterprise customers. Its MEF certifications validate Globe's position as a leading ICT solutions provider that complies with stringent requirements for standardized network-based services.

“A MEF 3.0 certification indicates our commitment to delivering best-in-class connectivity solutions for our customers,” mentioned Raymond Policarpio, Vice President for Product Management and Marketing at Globe Business, Enterprise Group. “As network transformation continues at a rapid pace, these MEF industry standards eliminate confusion regarding service components, core capabilities, and concepts.”

Policarpio added, “We’re especially honored to be the first in Asia to achieve a MEF 3.0 Certification for Globe's 100G E-Line services. Meeting these standards allows us to become a trusted partner in network-based enterprise services. Access to MEF’s ecosystem of frameworks, training programs, and expert partners empowers us to provide quality services to businesses as we guide them through their digital transformation.”

"As we continue our journey in building a world-class network, we ensure that Globe aligns with the latest service certification requirements of our enterprise customers and Global Partners,” shared Constantine Serafica, Vice President for Transport Network Division, Globe Telecom. “Our latest MEF certification is proof of our determination in achieving performance excellence and strategic foresight. This enables us to establish not only a standards-compliant Carrier Ethernet service but a flexible network responsive to our customers’ and partners’ needs."

Globe recently improved customer experience across its services in the first quarter of 2022, logging faster broadband and mobile connectivity through its constantly improving #1stWorldNetwork. Its relentless network buildup through new sites and expansions led to improved experience in terms of speed tests, video streaming, and web browsing for over 687,000 customers from January to March this year. This followed Globe’s aggressive builds, with 234 new cell sites up, 3,500 mobile sites upgraded, and 380 new 5G sites installed—benefiting individuals, communities, and businesses in a growing digital landscape.

Globe strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 9, which highlights the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development. Globe is committed to upholding the 10 United Nations Global Compact principles and 10 UN SDGs.
