He also thanked the Thai Ambassador for hosting a celebration for the two companies.

Globe and Skytowers signed a lease agreement covering several towers in Southern Luzon on February 6, 2022.  This is in line with Globe’s overall strategy to monetise passive assets to maintain a healthy balance sheet.

Complementing Globe’s sustainability efforts, the tower company is determined to reduce its carbon footprint by using renewable energy to lessen fossil fuel consumption.

The partnership is a testament to the strong relationship between the Philippines and Thailand and their commitment to promoting economic growth and development. Globe and Skytowers are now exploring the possibility of expanding the latter’s tower lease in the Visayas and Mindanao areas.

During the dinner, the Embassy of Thailand also shared its program in tourism, food security, and enhancing Public Private Partnerships (PPP) to expand new businesses and implement programs in the country.

Thailand is one of the Philippines' major trade partners and a significant source of rice imports. Both nations continue to promote economic cooperation in areas such as agriculture, digital infrastructure, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), renewable energy, and healthcare services. The Philippines and Thailand will celebrate their 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2024.
