ZTE and Sichuan Zhongfei Sunway sign a strategic cooperation agreement

Via ZTE Press Center

May 15, 2019

ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Sichuan Zhongfei Sunway to cooperate in the field of electric power inspection, jointly demonstrating a 5G UAV power inspection application.

Featuring the 5G network with large bandwidth, low latency and wide connection, the 5G+ UAV power inspection can effectively address existing UAV power inspection’s deficiencies in timeliness, interactivity, and intelligence.

In terms of timeliness, the 5G network can enable the real-time transmission of the video taken by the UAV to the monitoring room. Therefore, the power inspection team can find out the malfunction promptly and accurately, thereby improving the efficiency of troubleshooting.

In terms of reliability and interactivity, the 5G network can realize multi-machine cooperative 360° panoramic shooting and massive data acquisition, and reduce a series of technical problems, such as inconsistent light and image missing. The on-site team and the management center can cooperate remotely to find problems and re-collect images in time, enhancing the interactivity of inspection.

In addition, the 5G network enables the remote-controlled UAV inspection, identifying problems on the patrol video and pictures online by virtue of the AI intelligent recognition technology. The 5G+ UAV power inspection can also automatically record problems and generate inspection reports.

Backed up with the rich experience in respective fields, ZTE and Sichuan Zhongfei Sunway are committed to the mutually beneficial strategic cooperation. With the acceleration of 5G commercialization, the UAV core technologies will be fully combined with 5G to make the UAV power inspection more intelligent and efficient.
