ZTE and China Unicom complete end-to-end IPRAN2.0 pilot trial

February 20, 2019, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that ZTE and the Shenzhen branch of China Unicom have completed the industry's first end-to-end IPRAN2.0 pilot trial in China Unicom existing networks.

The pilot trial adopts ZTE’s ZXCTN 9000-EA series and ZXCTN 6000 series products for joint networking. The test involves many key technologies required for 5G transport, laying an important milestone for the pre-commercialization of 5G transport networks of China Unicom, and verifying the technological leadership of ZTE IPRAN2.0 products.

As the core solution to 5G transport networks of China Unicom, the IPRAN2.0 solution has been elaborately tested in existing networks for more than two months, and its service configuration, deployment, protection and recovery capabilities have been fully verified. The test results indicate that the IPRAN 2.0 technology is already commercially available.

The latest report “Review of 5G Technology Readiness and Commercialization” released by GlobalData shows that ZTE has been ranked as an “Established Player” in the 5G transport network field. ZTE's low-cost high-performance 5G Flexhaul network construction solutions and end-to-end series products have been commercially available. In addition, the company has already carried out the construction of 5G transport pre-commercial networks in collaboration with many operators around the world.
