TelecomTV Feature

To really harness the network it’s now generally understood that Open Source is the way forward and while there’s a wave of Open Source adoption as a result, some operators are slower than others. We asked our experts their views on how that journey can best be undertaken.
The consensus of opinion is that like most difficult journeys taking small steps rather than trying to take a flying run at it, is the best way to go. Adopt Open source in a modular way, service by service and pick perhaps one application to start with that you can try out in your own lab. Once you absorb the principles you can apply them to the different cloud native technologies as they emerge and are ready to use.

Featuring

  • Markus Wuepping, Head of Cloud Centre of Excellence, Vodafone
  • Heather Kirksey, VP, Community and Ecosystem Development, Linux Foundation
  • Mark Whiteway, Head of Sales, Europe, Lumina Networks
  • Taylor Carpenter, Partner, Vulk Cooperative

Filmed at: ONS Europe, Antwerp, Belgium, September 2019
