Gary Bunney, MDS Global

SMEs, long neglected by traditional telcos, want fully-integrated comms solutions from a single service provider

Gary Bunney says the greatest potential growth markets in the near future will be in the B2B and IoT sectors. He points out that 96 per cent of all businesses are SME's - a sector that has long been either ignored or badly served by traditional telcos that have focused almost exclusively on the worlds 45.000 major enterprises while disregarding a sector comprising upwards of 20 million small- to medium-sized businesses. Now comms requirements across this huge yet barely-tapped market are developing very quickly and SMEs want to source sophisticated telecoms and IT solutions from a single service provider.

Currently the average SME has just 6.3 employees and yet is serviced by 2.3 CSPs that, between them, provide disparate fixed, mobile and other telco and IT services. Gary Bunney says this model is old -fashioned and dysfunctional and, as such, a potentially enormous opportunity for MDS Global - not least because his company, provides a completely-integrated comms system to SME's that gives them total independence and complete control of their comms resources.
