Dialogic Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) enable end-to-end SDN/NFV solutions for service provider VoLTE and mobile core environments

Parsippany, NJ (November 29, 2017) - Dialogic, a cloud-optimized applications and infrastructure solutions provider for service providers, enterprises, and developers, and Tech Mahindra, a specialist in digital transformation, consulting and business reengineering, announced today that Dialogic has joined Tech Mahindra’s VNF-Xchange platform for end-to-end solution integration and pre-certification of VNF designs. Dialogic’s cloud-ready contributions to the VNF-Xchange will initially include its PowerMedia® XMS, PowerMedia® Media Resource Broker (MRB), and PowerVille® Load Balancer (LB) products. These products will play a key role in a multi-vendor collection of orchestrated Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) for certifying, evaluating, and benchmarking end-to-end solutions for service providers.

Tech Mahindra’s VNF-Xchange provides a platform that brings together “best-of-class” VNFs in a vendor neutral environment along with key functional orchestration and management components. The VNF-Xchange is being used to validate network element cloud-native capabilities including VNF onboarding and automated lifecycle management as well as functional interoperability for services like VoLTE, VoWiFi, and real-time voice and video-enabled applications to help service providers realize their SDN/NFV vision.

" Innovative technologies in network virtualization are dramatically creating opportunities for communication service providers to deploy more efficient and agile networks. The VNF-Xchange program is the industry's premier standards driven ecosystem, and we are very excited to collaborate with Dialogic to lead this transformation to help our customers realize the value, " said Arunmozhi Balasubramanian, Senior VP: Network Service – Solutions & Strategy at Tech Mahindra.

Dialogic’s PowerMedia and PowerVille solutions are important components in putting together end-to-end, NFV-ready VoLTE and mobile core solutions for service providers. Their performance in virtualized environments, standards-based functional interoperability, and cloud-ready architecture have already helped us accelerate real-life, end-to-end service demonstrations for several service provider proof-of-concepts in the VNF-Xchange platform, the industry’s first product-independent NFV platform.

" Service providers are looking for NFV-ready solutions that are already pre-certified, ready to deploy, and reduce the need to do lab trials and complex proof of concepts. We’ve continuously geared our solutions to be cloud-optimized and NFV-ready and are continuously working with Tech Mahindra to help service providers realize their SDN/ NFV goals, " said Jim Machi, SVP of Product Management and Marketing.

The award- winning PowerMedia XMS Media Resource Function (MRF) and PowerMedia MRB enable the delivery of media rich services in IMS/VoLTE environments, and provide the basis for developing new and innovative value-added services focused on Rich Communication Services (RCS), WebRTC, or over-the-top (OTT) applications requiring media processing, transcoding, or media recording. PowerVille LB is a software-based real-time communications cloud-ready load balancer uniquely designed to meet the challenges in scaling and delivering today’s demanding real-time communications applications.
