Fujitsu Introduces GLOVIA G2, Multi-Device Compatible Production Management ERP for Manufacturing

Via Fujitsu Press Releases

Jul 16, 2015

Tokyo, July 16, 2015

Fujitsu today announced the release of Version 3 of FUJITSU Enterprise Application GLOVIA G2, production-management ERP for discrete manufacturing. Sales of the Japanese edition start today.

The new version brings production-management ERP for discrete manufacturing to PCs, tablets, and smartphones, running on different devices, operating systems, and browsers. The visual interface has been simplified to make it easier to understand, and with new display options that include calendar-view input and tree view, the user experience and usability are both improved. Security has been upgraded with the latest Internet security standards, including the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), and all communications are encrypted, for a secure environment.

These improvements combine to bring consistency to all of the major phases of the manufacturing business - bidding, receipt of order, manufacturing, delivery, inventory, and maintenance - and to provide easy-to-understand tools that can be used anytime and anywhere to securely enter and review data, and make quick business decisions based on up-to-date information.

Background

In the manufacturing industry, companies pursue unified management of the status of sales and production operations at their global locations in order to make strategic and quick management decisions in response to worldwide demand fluctuations, while facilitating adjustments in local operations. For this reason there is a pressing need to create an environment where business can be conducted securely at any time and from anywhere. With greater interest in supporting mobile devices and BYOD, there is also a growing need to use different types of devices in the ways best suited to that device, while creating effective and secure connections between devices.

Fujitsu is addressing these needs with the latest version of GLOVIA G2, which with support for mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones, in addition to the existing support for PCs, brings a more efficient way to work to businesses in discrete manufacturing.

Features of the New Version of GLOVIA G2

1. Support for multiple device types, multiple browsers, and multiple OSs

The new version can be used on Windows or Android, on desktop or mobile devices, and with a mouse or on a touchscreen. Completely implemented in HTML5, it runs in a variety of standard-compliant browsers, including Internet Explorer and Chrome.

2. Improved user experience for improved usability

Screens have been redesigned for greater simplicity with a flat design that improves the user interface. All detailed screens can be displayed as tabular gridded views that allow the user to sort by columns, reorder columns, group by search results and perform sophisticated filtering. Usability has also been improved in views of production planning and parts-table maintenance, materials and other required-quantity calculation results. New displays are available, including calendar-formatted entry mode and tree view. All of these changes improve visibility and productivity.

3. Stronger security for safe communications

The most current Internet-security standards are used, including https and the Advanced Encryption Standard. All communications are encrypted for worry-free GLOVIA G2 use on mobile devices.
