  • Cygate has chosen the Ericsson Apcera platform, to be launched as part of their cloud services

  • Deal marks the first application of Ericsson's Apcera software platform globally, a policy-driven approach to Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Containers; powered by technology from Ericsson's strategic investment Apcera Inc.

  • Enables Cygate to offer customers secure and reliable cloud deployment, improved time to market through accelerated delivery and automation of software applications, and improved economics across test, development and production environment lifecycles

Cygate, a part of TeliaSonera Sweden and a leading provider of secure network and data center services in the Nordic countries, has chosen Ericsson's (NASDAQ:ERIC) Apcera platform, formerly known as Continuum, to be part of their cloud offerings.

With the adoption of the Ericsson Apcera platform, Cygate can offer enterprise customers a new way of modernizing and automating software deployment. The platform offers an efficient and secure way to deploy, orchestrate, and govern diverse workloads across multiple clouds. The unique policy and governance capabilities of the platform enable enterprises to have full control of the deployed applications. Cygate's customers will be able to take advantage of public cloud, on-premise private cloud and industry cloud infrastructure resources to achieve the best levels of performance, agility, scale, cost-effectiveness and compliance, within the context of advanced IT governance and control. The Ericsson Apcera platform also provides secure deployment of Docker containers, and is optimized for DevOps.

Patrik Olsson, CEO, Cygate, says: "We believe it is important to provide our customers with the best possible opportunities to embrace the full potential of the cloud using policy-driven PaaS with hybrid cloud support for application deployment, orchestration and governance across cloud infrastructure. With the deployment of Ericsson's Apcera platform we will offer services to customers that want to securely deploy Docker workloads and build applications using microservices architecture."

Derek Collison, CEO and founder, Apcera, says: "As cloud infrastructure becomes more complex, security becomes even more critical. Enabled by Apcera's policy-driven technology, Cygate allows customers to innovate quickly with full confidence and trust, using container technologies and microservices. Ericsson's Apcera platform, ensures that innovation today enables organizations' infrastructure to scale securely for the future.

Charlotta Sund, Head of Ericsson in Region Northern Europe and Central Asia, says: "Cloud is emerging as a major disruptor of industries bringing new opportunities for customer engagement and business growth. The ability to capitalize on these opportunities becomes a competitive differentiator in today's market realities. We see policy-driven PaaS as a key success to cloud as it provides speed, security, governance and integrity. We are committed to work together with Cygate to extend the cloud offering with the most relevant services to adress enterprises that would like to accelerate innovation and time to market."
