Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. June 23, 2017 - Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. (“CHT”, TAIEX: 2412, NYSE: CHT) today held its annual general meeting. The meeting was hosted by Chairman Yu Cheng. Shareholders in attendance represented 5,864,805,955 shares, or 75.60% of total outstanding shares.
The Company’s 2016 business report, 2016 financial statements and the proposal for 2016 earnings distribution were ratified by shareholders. In addition, the meeting passed proposals including:
- The Supplementary election of the Company's independent director of 8th board of directors: Yu-Fen Lin.
- Release of restrictions on competitive activities on director
The 2016 dividend to shareholders passed in the meeting is NT$4.9419 per common share in cash, totally NT$38,336,525,081.
