ZTE releases the industry’s first Wi-Fi 6 certified fiber/copper dual-mode home gateway

18 February 2020, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today launches the ZXHN H6606, the industry’s first fiber/copper dual-mode home gateway that passed Wi-Fi certification and support the EasyMesh specification. The product can connect with VDSL2 35b, GPON, and Gigabit Ethernet networks to deliver gigabit broadband access in multiple scenarios. It also supports the Wi-Fi 6 and mesh Wi-Fi technologies to provide home users with a gigabit broadband experience. In terms of networks, the ZXHN H6606 supports the VDSL2 35b technology, which can reuse the existing copper resources to increase broadband speeds to 300Mbps. The product has an SFP cage that can connect to a GPON module to switch access over to a gigabit optical network. By virtue of these techniques, the product can meet the access requirements of different scenarios in a deep fiber deployment and realize comprehensive gigabit broadband coverage, thereby helping operators make fast deployments. In addition, the product supports ZTE’s in-house chip that employs ARM’s Cortex-A53 dual-core architecture and features a dominant frequency up to 1.2GHz, ensuring a strong performance in delivering gigabit broadband access. For home users, the ZXHN H6606 supports Wi-Fi 6 technology, which enables higher throughput, lower latency and more connections. The product has eight Wi-Fi spatial streams and offers a PHY rate up to 3.6Gbps. It can also implement whole-home coverage with multi-AP mesh Wi-Fi networking. These features guarantee a superior experience of services, including 4K/8K video, online gaming, and home IoT for users while helping operators roll out new broadband services in homes.
