In-depth B2B billing knowhow pays dividends

Back in the mid- and through to the late-1980s what is now MDS Global (and used to be Martin Dawes) was Europe's biggest B2B MVNO with over a million subscribers - a massive number for the time. The company built a highly advanced BSS capability to serve the MVNO and has since leveraged that heritage capability so that at the heart of the modern company is a state-of-the-art BSS as a Service system that has been specifically designed for B2B and which can handle all the complexities of the B2B sector. Simultaneously, MDS Global has also developed a consumer market product "MVNO on Demand".

As Gary Bunney explains, MDS Global's capabilities range from the most complex and sophisticated B2B billing systems that can easily handle the myriad of complexities and hierarchies required in the provision of a set of unique tariffs for individual B2B customers all the way through to a much simpler consumer-based billing system. He points out that it is incredibly difficult and time-consuming for a service provider with a billing system designed for the consumer market retroactively to adapt it to provide a B2B billing capability. MDS already has a tried and tested B2B capability and a consumer billing system. It's an advantage that the company intends to exploit to the full.
