ZTE unveils high-density "pizza box" OLT

ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a leading provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile internet today has unveiled its ZXA10 C610, a pizza-box OLT based on ZTE's TITAN optical access platform. With a 1U fixed box-type compact structure, the ZXA10 C610 features high density, high reliability, and flexible deployment.

The ZXA10 C610 supports unblocked 16 PON ports and can connect up to 1,024 users. It can be installed in various modes, including an indoor rack, an outdoor cabinet or a wall-mounted box.

Operators can use the device for flexible installation and fast deployment. The ZXA10 C610 is suited for households in areas with a low broadband penetration rate or a low user density. It can also be deployed in industrial parks and commercial buildings.

Compared with large rack-type OLTs, the ZXA10 C610 reduces power consumption by at least 60 percent and significantly decreases the requirements for equipment room infrastructure, including space, power supply and air-conditioning, thereby lowering TCO for operators. The device also features carrier-grade reliability with multiple protection mechanisms, such as uplink redundancy protection, optical line protection, power supply and fan redundancy protection, and overheating protection.

ZTE is a global leader in optical access products. According to a Q4 2018 report of the research firm IHS Markit, ZTE ranks second in terms of the market share of PON products.
