SEE ALL, KNOW ALL ORGANIZATIONS TO EMERGE DRIVING DATA-DRIVEN INNOVATION AND DISRUPTION ACROSS INDUSTRIES – IDC ANNOUNCES IOT AND ANALYTICS EVENT

08 Sep 2015

Singapore, September 8, 2015 – International Data Corporation (IDC) expects to see the emergence of a new type of Asian enterprise – the “See-All, Know-all organization”. “See-All, Know-all organizations” are challenging traditional business models and disrupting markets. These organizations are setting new standards in the way they engage with customers, leverage its workforce, and in its ability to quickly adapt to changes. A key characteristic of these organizations is that they are able to “see” and sense everything and everyone that is connected.

To stay competitive, organizations are expected to increase investments in IoT and BDA in the next few years*. According to IDC research, the worldwide Internet of Things (IoT) market will reach 29.5 billon connected “things” with revenues up to USD 1.7 trillion by the year 2020. Revenues are expected to reach to about USD $678B in market opportunity for businesses to gain greater value from connected people, processes, things and data1 .

"While many organizations are looking at IoT to drive operational efficiencies that can help them reduce their overall cost structure and provide a quick ROI, the more progressive companies - See-All enterprises - are starting to utilize IoT solutions to aggressively enter adjacent industries and market segments,” says Charles Reed Anderson, Vice President, Head of Mobility and IoT.

Also, organizations need to be able to “know” everything, understanding the massive volumes of data being collected, and putting those into the context of business. This requires organizations to define a holistic data and analytics strategy, the right investments in Big Data technologies, and a cultural shift toward analytically-oriented decisions and processes. In fact, IDC expects BDA technology and services investments across Asia Pacific to increase at 34% YoY for the next few years.

"The rapid growth in Analytics and IoT investment is creating a divide between the organizations that “know” and those that do not. As more things and people connect, vast amounts of data are being generated. This creates opportunities to learn about customers, streamline business processes, flatten organizational structures, and transform industries," says Daniel-Zoe Jimenez, Asia/Pacific Senior Program Manager, Big Data and Analytics and Digital Transformation.

During the 2015 IoT and Big Data and Analytics event series, IDC and its partners will attempt to "demystify" these two interlinked and converging markets by exploring the consumer, government and enterprise solutions that will drive the industry forward. Also, we will examine the impact these solutions are having on traditional business and operating models.

This one day event will have an innovative format that will help address the following questions:

  • What are the opportunities that IoT and BDA present?
  • What use cases are driving the market today? And which will drive the market in the future?
  • What are the technological and organizational challenges companies will face?
  • What are the solutions vendors provide the technologies and skilled resources to address the major challenges?
  • Which vendors, enterprises and governments are leading the way and what are they doing to drive this success?
  • What steps your organization should take to embark on this journey.

This conference will be held in nine (9) cities across Asia Pacific - Bangkok, Taipei, Singapore, Hong Kong, Auckland, Sydney, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Seoul – to be attended by a quality audience comprising of 60-80 middle to senior IT decision makers, suppliers, practitioners, investors and thought leaders from a cross section of industries. In addition, IDC will provide results from its latest research on Big Data and IoT MaturityScapes, as well as provide essential guidance to the attendees on choosing projects that best fit their organizational structure.
