The IoT Challenge gathered at the Lisbon Congress Centre startups, developers and integrator companies in the first IoT hackathon promoted by PT Empresas.
Over the course of two days, the competitors developed and adapted IoT applications using PT Empresas IoT Place service, that allows the rapid creation of innovative solutions, as well as the managed connectivity service developed by Altice Labs. Filipe Cabral Pinto, from the Innovation and Technological Coordination direction, participated as a mentor in the IoT Challenge collaborating in the orientation of the different teams and contributing to the structuring of the proposed solutions.
The PT IoT Challenge took place in parallel with the Productized Conference 2016 and allowed the chosen working groups to develop or adapt IoT solutions quickly, scalably and securely through the use of PT IoT Business services.
But if in terms of technology, all projects used the IoT platform, on the other hand the application areas were quite diverse, covering community based solutions, each with an impact on cities such as environmental systems, energy, health and telecommunications and other more personalized such as anti-smoking resources or control devices for cars.
