G3ict Shows Promise of Accessibility in the Internet of Things

Learn how the Internet of Things (IoT) is giving people with disabilities more opportunities and control.

Today, devices and apps help manage the world around us. Networks allow technology to travel with us. This connected world and the Internet of Things (IoT) is also giving people with disabilities more opportunities and control.

It’s the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies (G3ict) published a white paper, with support from AT&T, to honor the anniversary. It shows how connecting with things will positively impact people with disabilities and older adults.

The paper points out that the expansion and development of faster networks lets us connect our homes, cars and even clothing. As technology develops, companies can build solutions that make life more convenient for seniors and people with disabilities.
