ZTE unveils gigabit-class wireless and mobile routers

Via ZTE Press Center

Sep 12, 2017

12 September 2017, San Francisco –ZTE, a leading global mobile device maker unveils two gigabit-class gateway products in MWCA2017, Wireless Router MF288 and Mobile Router MF990 following by introducing the world's first Gigabit Phone. Thanks to the capabilities of Gigabit-class data transmission and the Pre5G Giga+ MBB wireless network solution, both products promise the maximum download speeds reaching up to 1 Gbps per second.

Gigabit-class LTE marks an important cornerstone for the upcoming 5G era in the communication industry, since 5G technologies are supposed to be commercially available on a large scale up till 2020. In addition, the two products will offer abundant application scenarios for users. Devices will be more intelligent and more interactive through gigabit-class data transmission and information processing, which bring about IoT in advance.

Intelligent Algorithm & Maximum Download Speeds Reaching up to 1 Gbps

Powered by the latest Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X16 modem (MDM9x50), both the Wireless Router MF288 and the Mobile Router MF990 support FDD and TDD spectrum, which brings the maximum download speeds of LTE Category 16 up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds up to 150 Mbps.

The Wireless Router MF288 supports many functions including VoLTE HD voice and Wi-Fi with a gigabit-class data interface. The five-antenna design takes the signal coverage of MF288 to a new level.

The Wireless Router MF288 also supports multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO, multi-user multiple access and technology). On the basis of gigabit-rate transmission, MF288 automatically runs intelligent algorithm. By analyzing multi-user, multi-terminal and multi-task access through a single device, it can allocate processors and data intelligently to promise users with pleasant surfing experience and high-speed networking.

Mobile Router MF990 is an easy-to-carry device with the size of 90 * 90 * 15mm only. With a 2.4-inch LCD touch screen, MF990 can display information like power, signal, data, and also support application management. The 3,000Ah battery can last more than 8 hours, which allows users to enjoy high-speed network services at any time and place.

Gigabit-Class Gateway to Promote Intelligent Life

Thanks to the improved efficiency and shortened time for data transmission, the two products launched by ZTE will lead to a broader future of applications like HD audio, video calls, AR, VR, smart home and IoT. Crossover cooperation is supposed to be a must for the upcoming IoT era, a diversified, personalized, safe and efficient intelligent life will come true in the foreseeable future.

Gateway products, served as the Internet entrance for intelligent devices, are used for data transmission and information processing. With the help of gigabit speeds, they will truly accelerate the approach of intelligent life.

At present, large-scale promotion on commercial gigabit-class Pre5G network is under way in the United States, Australia and other countries. ZTE is actively collaborating with local carriers to promote the commercial usage of gigabit terminals. The Wireless Router MF288 will be put on sale in North America in October by cooperation with global Pre5G carriers, while the Mobile Router MF990 receiving global bands is expected in the fourth quarter of 2017.
