NTT Communications launches Multi-Cloud Connect service to provide direct private connectivity to Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
TOKYO, Japan — August 26, 2015 — NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within NTT (NYSE: NTT), announced today the launch of Multi-Cloud Connect- an optional feature on NTT Com's Arcstar Universal One that enables enterprises to access third party public cloud services through its high-performance MPLS network for enhanced security and improved connectivity.
While enterprise adoption of cloud services continues to accelerate, most of these services are public cloud-based and accessed via the Internet. Inconsistent Internet performance is a major impediment to widespread cloud adoption, especially for MNCs with highly distributed end-users. Multi-Cloud Connect will address these performance issues by connecting the Arcstar Universal One MPLS network directly to public cloud service provider platforms, such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Multi-Cloud Connect will initially offer direct access to Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms in Tokyo on August 26th, 2015, followed by London later this year.
1. Service Highlights
(1) Security and Performance
Multi-Cloud Connect connects to Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms via a security-enhanced, private Layer 3 connection, not via the internet.
(2) Hybrid-cloud solution
Leveraging its 130 self-owned data centers worldwide, NTT Com can provide customers with a hybrid solution that suits their different application needs: whether it's a mix of on-premise, private cloud (Enterprise Cloud) and/or public cloud.
(3) Global reach
After initial launches in Tokyo and London, Multi-Cloud Connect will continue to expand globally to other parts of Asia and to North America.
