O2 announces new partnership with sustainable tech provider, Klyk

Via O2

May 20, 2020

O2 today announces a brand-new partnership with sustainability-focussed start-up, Klyk. As the lead connectivity provider to the London-based firm, Klyk joins the O2 Direct Partner Network, tailoring innovative digital solutions for its clients as an exclusive reseller to small and medium-sized (SMB) businesses.

KIyk’s mission is to enable companies to be more sustainable with their everyday technology tools. The start-up aims to provide SMB customers with solutions that are not only greener, but also one that saves them money. It takes a circular economy approach to the sector by focusing on a refurbished portfolio of as good-as-new devices and peripherals and upcycling technology at the end of its life.

This follows the news earlier in the year as O2 revealed plans to cut carbon emissions from its entire business by 2025, giving UK consumers and businesses a mobile network where calls, texts and data are powered by cleaner, green energy. O2 is also working with its supply chain partners to reduce emissions across its supply chain by 30% in the next five years.

In their like-minded approach and vision on sustainability, the O2-Klyk partnership comes as both businesses seek to help others tackle the growing problem of e-waste within the industry.

As part of the direct agreement, Klyk will benefit from O2’s award-winning network, as well the unrivalled service and flexibility that O2 Business offers.

Maria Fernandez, SMB Trading Director at O2, said: “We are dedicated to driving environmental innovation to ensure that we fulfil our responsibilities to our customers and to the planet. We only partner with businesses that share our values and we feel Klyk is an ideal fit. We are both committed to giving our customers the means to become more sustainable and to promote our shared initiatives to reduce e-waste. Not many others are doing what Klyk is doing, and we are very excited to be a part of it.”

Arif Hussein, Co-Founder of Klyk added: “O2 is really leading the way on the environmental front. It’s one of very few companies to be awarded the triple Carbon Trust standards, and its recycling scheme has already recycled more than three million devices and diverted 450 tonnes of waste from landfill. With such a similar vision to ours and an unmatched reputation for customer service, our partnership enables us to fulfil our environmental agenda without compromising on service, which means that everyone wins.”

The O2 Direct Partner Network is a trusted provider of digital experiences to business end users, offering first-class support and service, as well as a high level of digital knowledge and expertise in the marketplace.
