Mark Bieberich, Senior Director of Strategy for SDN/NFV Solutions, NEC/NetCracker

To overcome the limitations of the current OSS/BSS infrastructure, the industry needs to develop new orchestration solutions that are designed for real-time, on-demand services. This orchestration can be divided into three main areas: At the data centre level, there is cloud orchestration, which powers virtual machines; then there is resource orchestration for VNFs and managing particular domains; and finally service level orchestration, which ties together the physical and virtual networks, and it's this that will enable telcos to augment their existing OSS and BSS solutions, creating hybrid networks.
