It's no longer enough for a telco just to have a service itself, they need to layer on manage services and innovative new solutions, such as dynamic bandwidth network packet brokering. A lot of customers now want and need a fully assured pipeline. One of the easiest ways to add virtualisation is at the edge, such as with vCPEs. And if properly prepared, then the edge allows telcos to move towards more agile and dynamic services in the future.
