How Mobile Edge Computing powers 5G

The Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) industry standards group was formed by ETSI to create a standardised, open environment for the efficient and seamless integration of applications from vendors, service providers, and third-parties across multi-vendor mobile-edge Computing platforms. MEC is an essential component for 5G architectures, where very low latency connectivity is required for new services, such as automotive. As the ISG nears the end of its two-year mandate, what work has been completed so far, and what can we expect to see for the rest of the year?
