Palo Alto Networks Partners with BT to Offer Managed SASE

Via Palo Alto Networks

May 17, 2022

As organizations are developing new ways to accelerate their digital transformation and accommodate the new hybrid workforce, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) is becoming the model for resolving today’s challenges with existing legacy, fragmented security and networking solutions. SASE combines connectivity and network security into a unified and massively distributed cloud service. Organizations are looking at SASE to securely connect, authenticate and access internal services from any location or device. With SASE, organizations can better control their data and traffic entering and leaving their network.

The future direction of SASE is clear, but many organizations are asking, how do we make a move to SASE? With this in mind, I’m excited to share that Palo Alto Networks has partnered with BT to provide a Managed SASE offering powered by Prisma SASE – the industry’s most complete SASE – to help organizations have a smooth journey in their SASE transformation.

Great Partners Think Customer First

Our partnership with BT started more than ten years ago. In fact, Palo Alto Networks is one of BT’s key partners in providing industry-leading managed security services to customers. Together, we have brought innovative cybersecurity solutions that continue to reflect evolving customer demands and integrate the latest developments in security automation. With this new managed SASE offering, organizations will be able to migrate from their existing architectures, continuously supported by integrated solutions and advisory expertise in cloud security, identity management, Zero Trust and more.

This comprehensive managed SASE offering includes Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access cloud-delivered security with application-defined, autonomous and ML-powered Prisma SD-WAN. Prisma Access helps secure all users and applications with consolidated, best-in-class security capabilities (ZTNA, SWG, CASB, FWaaS and more). At the same time, Prisma SD-WAN enables the cloud-delivered branch with the industry’s only next-generation SD-WAN that is autonomous, integrated and secure. BT’s managed SASE offering, powered by Palo Alto Networks, combines a global high-performance network with next-gen SD-WAN to simplify the delivery of consistent security at scale while ensuring optimal work-from-anywhere experience.

This SASE offering comes as a managed service by BT. As a leader in managed network and security services, BT benefits organizations by focusing on their specific requirements, which may vary depending on the size, type of industry and plans for future development.

“At BT, we’re putting SASE at the heart of our cloud security architecture strategy. We’re leveraging our extensive experience in network underlay and SD-WAN and combining it with both network and cloud-based security capabilities. By incorporating Palo Alto Networks technology with our deep security and networking expertise, we can deliver the benefits of a truly complete SASE solution to our customers,” said David Stark, VP Security Portfolio, BT and Scott Cowling, Director, Software Defined Networks, BT in a joint statement.

Through this strategic partnership, BT’s managed Cloud (Prisma Access) and Prisma SD-WAN, powered by Palo Alto Networks, service is globally available to organizations of any size and industry.

This offering provides organizations multiple benefits:

  • Rapid Transformation – SASE eliminates the need for appliances to support individual security and networking stacks while simplifying management.
  • Enhanced Visibility and Security – Since it’s a single, cloud-delivered solution, SASE provides complete visibility across the entire environment, with fully integrated, high performance, threat prevention security. SASE also provides full content inspection to enable remote workforces and locations securely.
  • Immediate and Continuous Savings – SASE reduces the number of vendors, tools and technology stacks, enabling organizations to save on infrastructure and operational costs.

Best of Both Worlds In a Single Managed SASE Offering

Both Palo Alto Networks and BT are committed to helping customers secure their future. This Managed SASE solution offers a new way for many organizations to complete their SASE transformation. With the industry's most complete SASE solution in Prisma SASE, combined with the global expertise of BT, customers can be confident that they have the very best partners on hand to help them securely navigate their next phase of growth.
