We need to focus a lot on the how to achieve the best networks, the most cost effective networks, the most flexible networks.
Franz Seiser, Deutsche Telekom (00:28):
We move the architecture from vertical silos to horizontal layers. So we have on the bottom one team that really deals with infrastructure. So even we talk cloud native, we build our own private cloud. So someone needs to deploy servers, cable servers provide all the networking. So that's done by that team. They provide infrastructure, but they also provide compute network storage.
Matt Rees, Neos Networks (00:53):
And we collapsed effectively our CTO organization and our COO organization together into my combined role. So what we now call tech ops, borrowing from the software development world of DevOps that's been around for a lot longer. So really breaking down those boundaries, getting the teams not just working together in a matrix way, but far closer together organizationally, hierarchically as well.
Francisco-Javier Ramon Salguero, Telefonica & ETSI (01:19):
When you enter into those new cognitive technologies, it's a continued journey so you can declare that you are finished the immigration because it puts you in a mode of being in continued renewal of the infrastructure and the applications due to the own obsolescence base of these technologies. So you need to be capable and developing the skills and the automation capabilities to be continuity, upgrading both the software and the platforms.
Dr Joan Triay, DOCOMO Euro-Labs & ETSI (01:54):
Making use of the reference architecture of the NFV is that it is, as I mentioned, very easy to map what are the available open source solutions out there that we can integrate. And not only that, it has also become quite useful to integrate solutions that were also being provided by hyperscalers.
Matt Rees, Neos Networks (02:14):
Lots of the large brands, software houses in CRMs and in ITSM applications have been very quick to market with their AI agents. Really help you in the business operations world of managing customer experience and whether that's the chat box or feeding information around customer interaction on sale. I think what I've probably seen is that we've much as for a long, long time, I think pole industry has been working on the gathering data from your network so you can predict failure of links or hardware so you can self-heal.
