“Most of our customers are familiar with smartphones,” Dr. Thomas Müller tells Martyn Warwick. So what Volvo sees itself doing is to bring two, well-understood worlds together in the car with the remote control of functions on the one hand and data streaming and digital information services on the other. But there are challenges: different technologies, different life-cycles and above all, perhaps, different ways of thinking.
