  • Partnership sees Nokia sell Vodafone Network Application Programmable Interfaces (APIs) through its Network as Code (NaC) platform
  • APIs make it easier and faster for App developers to build smarter, more secure digital services using the power of Vodafone’s global network.
  • Vodafone and Nokia to launch differentiated connectivity and location APIs later in the year

Vodafone and Nokia have joined forces to harness the power of 5G for app developers, making it easy to build smarter, safer apps that fight fraud, enhance identity verification and boost security. This means better, safer online experiences for end users when they are shopping, banking and using digital services.

Starting in April 2026, Nokia will include Vodafone’s Network APIs within its anti-fraud and authentication products, with the portfolio evolving to incorporate differentiated connectivity as the partnership progresses. These tools will be accessible via Nokia’s Network as Code (NaC) platform, extending their availability to app developers serving businesses, public sector organisations and consumers.

Johanna Wood, Vodafone’s Director of Network APIs, said: “As Vodafone’s Network APIs reach more developers, users’ mobile experiences become safer. Working together with Nokia, we will give developers worldwide the resources they need to help businesses combat fraud and provide enhanced digital experiences for their customers.”

Shkumbin Hamiti, VP of Network Monetization Platform at Nokia, said: “Through Nokia’s Network as Code platform, we are bringing together global operator capabilities so developers can innovate faster and with greater consistency. Partnering with Vodafone significantly expands the reach and impact of high-value network APIs that enable more secure and seamless digital services.”

Nokia’s network API strategy centres around connecting multiple API ecosystems through its NAC platform, which already connects more than 70 ecosystem partners. It offers operators a range of integration and enablement options with robust multi-tier API security, and gives developers simplified access to network functionalities.

Nokia’s NaC platform will expand access to Vodafone’s Network APIs for developers, supporting their commercial adoption and monetisation while growing the ecosystem comprising developers, aggregators, and operators. By using Vodafone’s 4G and 5G networks, the companies will simplify and reduce the cost of adapting apps for different countries without the need for separate versions.
